Metal Slug - There's no school like old school... Tim

File Under: Games

Why the hell did it take me so long to try out MAME? I mean, I KNEW I could play some really kickass old arcade games with it, but for some reason, I just never bothered. Damn my infernal laziness.

Well, anyway, that problem has been rectified, and I'm now happy to say that I'm hopelessly addicted to the Metal Slug series. I had always heard great things about these side-scrolling shooters, but since I don't frequent arcades, (nor did I have $500 to blow on a NeoGeo back in the day) I never got to experience them first hand. But now that I have, I definitely see what the big deal was. These games have some of the most amazingly fluid and detailed animation I have ever seen in a game, not to mention downright fun, addictive, and quirky gameplay. They don't make games like this anymore... It's a shame.

P.S.: I downloaded Finding Nemo. It sucked. I fell asleep with a half hour left, and doubt I'll go back and finish it. Don't listen to her lies.
